Final Essay/Reflection
This math class was about a mixture of different math topics. The teacher this semester was Vikkie.
My favorite part of this class was the word problems. It was really easy for me to understand them and when I understand something I have fun with it. My least favorite part of this class were the problems that involved finding the value of X. To this point I have no idea how to solve those types of math problems.
Everything I learned this semester was a review. I didn't think this was very helpful because I wasn't able to focus on what I really needed help on. Algebra wasn’t taught as much as I was hoping for. It would’ve been helpful for me to have spent more time on certain concepts like finding the value for X because I don't understand it. I won’t be taking this class next semester, but if for any reason I had to, I don’t think I would take it here. I don’t feel like I learned the things I was required to learn, or the things I needed the most help on.
Topics I believe need to be covered for the proficiency for me in particular is Algebra. I say this because that was the one topic I felt I didn’t understand on the test. Math skills I feel I have improved on would be the word problems because I feel I am now able to understand what they are asking and how to solve them. I feel I still need improvement on Algebra. This was on the proficiency and I practically had no idea how to solve the problems for it.
